There are many ways to become a parent, whether through pregnancy, adoption, surrogacy, fostering, etc. For someone with endometriosis, the road to parenthood and parenting itself may look different. You may struggle with pain, fatigue, or other symptoms related to your endometriosis (in addition to the stresses that come with parenting). There is no right way to parent, and no right way to parent with endometriosis. It may be important to build a community around you—of friends, family, Elders, and trusted health and social care providers— to support your mental and physical health and the health of your children. It may also be beneficial to reflect on endometriosis management options that were available to you during pregnancy and those that you may consider now that you are a parent.
